New Addition: Interfaith Panel Discussion – “Music and the Arts: A Bridge to Peace”
Interfaith Panel Discussion
“Music and the Arts: A Bridge to Peace”
Wednesday March 11th, 8PM
Schwartz/Reisman Centre, 9600 Bathurst St., FREE
Featuring Jewish, Muslim, Christian, and Bedouin musicians, Israel’s Diwan Saz Interfaith Ensemble represents the possibility, indeed the existence, of peace through cultural exchange and artistic collaboration. Using the work of this particular ensemble as an example and case study, a diverse panel of arts professionals and community leaders will convene to explore the ways in which music, art, and culture have served and can continue to serve as a means of bridging communities and ameliorating conflict, in the Middle East, here in Toronto, and around the world. Audience participation and dialogue will be encouraged.
